Not sure what to say?

I was shocked to see that Dave passed away. When I left Champaign, I couldn't bear to be reminded that I had left one of my best friends so I lost touch. Dave was exceptional in many ways: kind, forgiving, forbearing of my wrong notes in music and in life, and a consummate musician and poet. I feel honored to have known him. My thoughts go out to Betty Ann and Joni. Miss you all.

I worked at the Carle Heart center with Dave he will be missed.

I played one gig with Dave and he made it alot of fun. I hoped for another opportunity. He is missed from the CU music community

My heart goes out to Dave's family and many friends. I am truly sorry I unable to attend his funeral. Dave has been my great friend since the 70's. He was a tremendous musician, singer, and a true Human Being. I will miss him greatly and remember him often.

Dave was one of the most influential people in my life when I was a kid. He was older and he taught me many great lessons about life and music that I will always remember. My respect and admiration for this man will never fade. Heaven has picked up another fine artist.

Betty Ann,
Nancy Deters called to tell me of David. I grieve deeply for
your loss. Soul mates forever. I'm at a loss for words. A lifetime just
isn't enough.
David had such zeal and guts. Will never forget his
singing "Hand Jive." Nor his pet boa. I think of you both often with
happy memories.
Love,
Debbie Jackson Freeland

Betty Ann, I am so sorry to hear about Dave. He and I worked together in RT and as Echo Tech's at Carle for many years.Dave was funny, kind and generous. He will be deeply missed.

I was shocked to hear of Dave's passing. I have some fond memories of playing music with Dave in the early '70s and I'll miss his great "Big Band" vocals.

Dave was such an amazingly wonderful person. I will cherish all the wonderful memories I have of him, playing gigs, the drives to and from gigs...all of Dave's wickedly funny stories. I will never be able to hear "Dai-o" without thinking of and hearing Dave's voice ringing out. What an amazing musician/singer....what a terrible loss for all of us.
