David Fraiser Driesbach, master printmaker and Presidential Professor Emeritus from Northern Illinois University, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2019, at the age of 97. Mr. Driesbach resided at Wynscape Rehabilitation Center in Wheaton, and died from complications suffered from a recent fall....

Such a wonderful life he shared with so many.
I was fortunate to acquire prints from his Granddaughter
who at the time was managing his Itsy account.
Some that I remembered him creating at NIU.
Gems in my collection from a vast treasure chest.

He was a wonderful man and teacher. A little stern sometimes... I spent many hours working late into the night printmaking. I have several of his prints and cherish them dearly.

I'm sending my condolences and have so many fond memories of time spent with Dave (and Maggie) as my parents enjoyed a very special friendship with them both. He was always so bright, funny and kind. I have several pieces of his artwork hanging and my mom has quite a few which we all enjoy. We were so lucky to have them in our lives as more than just friends but extended family too.

I am so sorry to read of Professor Driesbach's passing. He was beloved by both my parents and I so enjoyed the times when I would visit his studio to look at, discuss and enjoy his art. I treasure his artwork on my walls and, as always, it will remind me of him. My condolences to the entire family.
