Rev Dr David George DUCHESNE

I first met David when as a parochial nominator at St James Church of England South Canterbury, I visited him with others at Old Guildford Anglican Church in the early days of his ministry. We were very glad when David accepted the invitation to become Rector of St James´ parish. We thank God for David´s faithful service and warmhearted Christian ministry. David and Bernie were a great blessing to so many.

I first met David when as a parochial nominator with my colleagues at St James Church of England South Canterbury, I visited him at Old Guildford church when he was in charge of that parish in the early days of his ministry. We were very glad when David accepted our nomination to become Rector of our parish at South Canterbury. David and Bernie endeared themselves to us in their faithful loving ministry to the Lord and to us all. David was indeed a faithful preacher and servant of the gospel....

Reverend Duchesne, aggectionately known as Dooby, was the most gentle, patient and caring person. We boys at Shore school knew this well and tested his kind nature regularly in Divinity classes. I am sure he forgave us every time - just as I am equally sure every boy in his care over many years knew what a wonderful person he was. I shed more than one tear when I heard he had died.
