Not sure what to say?

Dr.Eitel was my professor and my mentor. He introduced me to the conceptual rubric of process improvements and quality outcomes application in healthcare. He never shut his door to me when I needed him. I remember faxing some documents over to him only for me to realize that the fax went through at 2:00 am in the morning. That woke her daughter up! The next morning, he called to let me know about it, yet whispered "that doesn't stop us, does it?" The last time we spoke was when he directed...

A great man and true scholar. Dave helped and encouraged me as I developed an interest in the business of EM. He founded AAEM's operations management committee which generated a huge interest. His recommendation for a successor was spot on. He will be greatly missed be me and all the members of the Academy.

Lindy and family,
We are so sorry to learn of Dave's passing. He was a true colleague and genuine friend. We'll miss him terribly.

We often remember with great fondness the generosity you showed our Natalie on her birth (she still has the "fruitcake" hat box).

All of our love,

Lynne:
We were so sorry to hear about the passing of Dave :(... We're sending you a hug from CHILE :)

I owe Dave Eitel more than anyone else I can name in my professional career. He taught me so much ,and in such a gentle, caring way. He never treated me as "just a nurse"". He always treated me as a friend. I will be forever grateful to him ,and he will be missed greatly. Rest in peace Dr. Dave

It was my privilege to be a resident at York starting in the second year of the program Dave started. His humanism and the obvious joy he had in taking care of patients and teaching residents was a inspiration and has served as a role model for me over the subsequent years. I know that I am only one of many of us whom he touched in this way. Thank you, Dave. I'll miss you.

Although I never knew Dr. Eitel, I knew of him through his children. My sincerest sympathy to the Eitel family, with a special hug and love to Kristen.

I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Dave as a colleague and had worked with him and Rich Wuerz who had been one of my residents as they looked to roll out ESI Triage. Dave was full of energy for taking the good ideas of the business world into the improvement of operations for our EDs. It was always exciting to speak with him.

Yesterday, today, tomorrow and hereafter Dave's work continues to save lives and prevent harm in emergency departments around the world. Thank you Dr. Eitel and may God bless your family.
