Not sure what to say?

Dear Donna and kids,

I don't imagine you will remember me but I had the distinct pleasure of working for Dave at Arvida Mortgage in Clearwater. Not only was he a great manager but he was also my friend. I lost track of him in the early part of this decade but that certainly does not diminish the good thoughts I have had for all of you. Please know that you and the children are in my thoughts and prayers. I know how difficult this must be but please know that there is some comfort...

Donna, While we never met you or David we feel a special coloseness through knowing both of your parents: Donna and I were in the class of 1939 at Robert E. Lee High School and I lived on Challen Ave where we knew "Jerry" as a young neighbor. My wife,(nee Antoinette Trout) is a very longtime friend of Claire's and it was through her we knew of you and David and learned of David's passing this week. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and to your family and to the Knauer and Ennis families...

Donna,
I want to offer my condolences as well. I also remember meeting you and Dave on your first trip to Raleigh. Jim and I enjoyed meeting you and enjoyed even more, getting to know you over the years.

Please know that you and your family are in our prayers.

Donna,
Diane is out of town as I receive this grim news. I will try to contact her later. I don't quite know what to say other than we are deeplly saddened but will always remember you and David in so many good ways. It seems like yesterday when we went to dinner as part of your first visit to Raleigh when David was being recruited to be part of Cameron-Brown. He was truly such a good person.

Deepest condolences,
Jim Garner

Donna,Cece is out of town and just e-mailed me about Dave . What a shock. He was a very special person. You and your family are in our prayers.I hope you do not still have the sleep sofa from Raleigh ,because we will not move it again. If there is anything else we can do please call on us. 12766322260.

Donna,

I hope this is not too late. Jim and I think of you'll often. In fact, we were just at the beach with Jim and Diane Garner and were talking about you'll.

I believe our oldest son met you'll a few years back at your rafting site. I am so sorry to hear about Dave's recent death. Cindy Hobbs sent me this notice. Please keep in touch. Would love to see you.

With love,
Cece Johnson

p.s. Jim sends his love and condolences also.

Dear Mrs. Ennis:

I am deeply saddened by the loss of David. David and I were best friends in the 6th and 7th grades, and spent many weekends during those years camping out, delivering newspapers together and having great fun -- those were the innocent, wonder years. My mom, Iva May Gallop, taught David and me im the 6th grade at Stockton Elementary--my mom passed away at the age of 89 on February 22, 2009. My very deepest condolences. God Bless.

Donna and Chris, I am totally in shock and saddened for you as are so many I am sure.

Mrs. Ennis;
I'm so sorry I missed David's services. I loved David like my very own brother. I have been envious of North Carolina for having him for all of these years, but pleased that he was happy. I have memories of times with David of such youthful and carefree bliss (sorry Duncan) that I hope to share with my grandchildren someday. I feel the lesser man that I cannot publish an 800 page tome of those wonderful, innocent days with your son to share him with the world.
