Read MoreWe really loved going to Birdsall's. Basically every time we went to Mason we wanted to go there. We're from Manly. My grandkids loved it there to. Even when my brothers came over from NE Iowa they always loved going there. We'd sit there and talk and laugh. We are going to miss it so much. I'm so sad this has happened.

David, We will miss out visits at Birdsalls.Our grandchildren loved talking to you & Markie. It was always nice to hear you talk about your daughter,Paige & my former Hoover Kindergarten student. I'm so sorry that the owner of BIRDSALL'S has passed away. Growing up in Mason City, memories of the best ice cream parlor are never forgotton! When I came to town for my 50th HS graduation, you could find a steady stream of us stopping at Birdsall's.
