Not sure what to say?

I still remember the day we met at Adventureland. I was hoping to see how you were doing and what zany adventure you were having now, only to learn you're no longer here. I'm gutted. I'm numb. I'm beating myself up for not staying in contact with you.

I'll savor the memories my dearest friend. I'll run in the forest under a full moon, howel with the wolves, hug a tree, wink at the faeries, and think of you fondly.

I love you.

he was such a great influence in many people's lives.

As a vocal member of my PhD thesis committee, Dave asked very basic questions about the science I pursued. He made me think in a simpler, down-to-earth format, while not eschewing the detailed, complex implications of many research ideas. He was always warm and friendly. I miss his sense of humor as well. He is going to be missed greatly!

Dave made a difference in my life. 10+ years ago I had changed my major to Biology and decided that I wanted to try research. Dave alone among 5 professors responded to my query about working in his lab. We met, he described a research question & showed me how I could go about starting it. I worked in his lab for about six months. When I left, I knew that doing science was something I could do. That's on the members of the Featherstone lab in 2003, and especially on Dave. I think I was...

Dr. Featherstone showed me how easy it was to think of cellular structures and their relative sizes, making analogies somewhat along the lines of: "You can't park a garage in a Mercedes.

Dr. Featherstone was charming and funny and I would NEVER miss his lectures.

I am sorry for what those closest to him must be enduring.

Hold on and be strong.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. Judy and Bruce I remember all the good times at your house and when David was a little boy running around, sorry we never kept in touch. But your always be in my heart in prayers. My Love Jim Bell Daughter Patti Moeller To David wife and son your in my prayers

My deepest condolences to Dr. Richmond, Sam, and the rest of Dr. Featherstone's family.

Dr. Featherstone was a big part of my undergraduate and graduate studies. He helped me get into my Masters program and the PhD program I am currently in. He was a great mentor who has helped many students like myself. He shall be missed.

Janet and Sam I am so so sorry for your loss. Dave always made me laugh and smile. You are in my prayers.

Janet and Sam, I am sorry for your shocking loss. Dave was a fine colleague. You have my deepest sympathy.
