David Earl Foore, Sr., age 73, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at his home in Rural Retreat, VA. 


David was born in Baltimore, MD to the late Harold and Mazie Foore. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 32 years, Margaret Foore; his son, Christopher Adam Foore; his sister, Patricia Campbell; and his brother, Melvin Foore. David was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent 37 faithful years with H.S. Williams in Marion. He was well known as the go-to expert when it came to metal roofs, with a skill and knowledge that few could match. Outside of work, David found peace and joy in the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, proudly reeling in many trophy trout through the years. 


He is survived by his son David Foore, Jr. & wife Kim; daughter Amanda Funk & husband Jason; grandchildren Brittany Jones, Courtney Foore, Colton Foore, Jacob Funk, Andrew Funk, Adisyn Funk, Justin Foore, Nevaeh Foore, & Hannah Sharitz; siblings Ronald Foore & wife Mary, Harold Foore & wife Barbara, Russell “Joe” Foore & wife Debbie, Doug Foore, Diane Reid & husband Jeff, Delorse Thomas, Brenda Wells, and Erin Powers & husband Jody; three great grandchildren several nieces, nephews, and special friends Charles Crigger & wife Brenda and Eddie Stowers & wife Debbie. 


Funeral services will be held at 6:00PM, Monday, June 30, 2025, from the Bradley’s Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Pastor Mike Owens officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00PM on Monday at the funeral home. Private graveside services will be held at Burton’s Chapel Community Cemetery in Troutdale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help the family with final expenses. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com.
