Angelus Funeral Home - San Antonio Obituary

On October 21, 2021 David Paul Franzoni was called home.

David was a devoted and loving husband, father, uncle and friend. David devoted 40 years of his life to serving his country and was still serving even after his retirement in a civil service position.  David took great pride in his Military Service.  During his military and civilian flying career David learned and mastered his engineering duties on several different aircrafts to include the C5A Galaxy, 747’s, and the DC8 to name a few.  David had an unmatched work ethic and could accomplish anything he set his mind to.

David openly professed his faith in Jesus and served in his church on a regular basis.  He was a loving and gregarious personality who would do anything to help others even if he was in pain.  David suffered injuries in the service of his country which caused him great pain but he never let that stop him from helping anyone in need.

David was a devoted father who would do anything for his daughter.  David was also a master joke teller.  He was the ultimate Dad joke guy.  He and his daughter frequently tested each to see who had the best jokes.  As a husband David made sure his family was his top priority.  He devoted his life to them on a daily basis.  David would frequently comment that he was happiest just being with his family.  David was a devoted Boston sports fan and made sure everyone knew about his devotion.  David loved and spoiled his animals, especially his two companions Spotty and Benjamin.  They walked together, ate together and slept together, sometimes pushing Momma off the bed.  They gave him great joy.

David married his wife Kathleen in 1999 and together they had their beautiful daughter Sarah.  God brought David home but he will live in our hearts forever.  May he find peace in the arms of our Lord.

David is survived by his wife Kathleen Franzoni and daughter Sarah Concepcion Franzoni, father Kim Franzoni and wife Cathy, mother Nancy Clark, brother Mark Franzoni and wife Mandy, sister in law Rosemary Young and Steve, brother in law James Young and wife Gina, nieces Caroline and Madison Young, Carleigh Franzoni and Heather. As well as nephews Brian, Paul and Dillon Franzoni.

Not sure what to say?

Sarah, I'm so sorry. I was unaware of your loss. Your Dad was a remarkable man who loved to make people laugh. You have his sense of humor. My best memories are walking with Carly and you would sneak up and scare me. I would let this loud scream. I would turn around and your Dad would be laughing. He is so proud of you! He is now in heaving making everyone laugh.

Sarah, your Dad was such a joy to talk to. He always sought out Mike to visit with him at St. Gregory’s, and we were so pleased to see him again on campus at Providence. He always had such great things to say about you, and he was so proud of you. We are extremely saddened by your loss. May God comfort you and your family during this difficult time. May he Rest In Peace.
Sincerely,
Tracey & Mike Aleman

Kathy, Sarah and family I am deeply sorry for your loss. Dave was a wonderful co worker. He was funny, always joking and a hard worker. He always had wonderful things to say about you and Sarah. He had a heart of gold, always willing to help. Always trying to make everyone smile.. He well definitely be missed. This past week I kept wishing we could see him again, see his smile or hear a dad joke. Please know we love you all and are praying for you. I know this isn't good bye it's see you later.

I always enjoyed flying with Dave and we shared a lot of laughs over the years. His tough exterior was no match for his interior of true kindness. I counted him as friend and I will miss him. My heart goes out to the Franzoni Family.

I will always hold onto the memories of our times we all went out together. Your smile and laughter were contagious. You always gave me a hard time about my Cowboys. Dave, I believe this is their year! Thank you for being such a good husband to my lifelong dear friend and a great father to your beautiful daughter Sarah. Thank you for your many years of...

Words seem inadequate to express the sorrow felt by the loss of David. "Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow" Our hearts are with you, Kathleen and Sarah.
