Dave,
I still miss you all the time, buddy. I was just thinking about when you came into the TOC and put some of my flavored powdered creamer into your hot chocolate, got a huge goofy grin on your face, and said "It tastes MAGICAL!" I know we both love Texas and we both love God, and I wish we had gotten a chance to hang out in a non-combat zone. Hope you're having a blast in Heaven, and I'll see you when I get there.

I'll never forget the time you flew down to Balad Medical Cash with PFC Demarco to drop off some of my stuff and wish me luck and a safe trip home after i was wounded. It was a honor and pleasure serving with you, and everyone else from E company. Engineers lead the way, sir!

David was my LT in Baghdad and he never once lost that smile of his. He was always happy and ready to help any soldier with any problem. He was a source of inspiration and courage for me. Always the professional soldier, he was not afraid to get on his knees and pray for all of us in 1st platoon. I will miss him but I will see him again standing next to the Father with that big goofy grin of his.
