We were shocked and saddened to learn of the death of a vital, wonderful man. At a time when our own family suffered a similar loss, David was a great support to us. We will always treasure his caring and gental compassion, which helped us through a difficult time.

Dear Friedman Family,

We are deeply saddened by the unexpected loss of our dear friend David. Our thoughts are with all of you. We will always remember him for his wonderful artistic talents, his kindness and his humor. With love, Matthias & Delia

Dear Abby & Irv:

My mother just told me of your great loss. David was a wonderful and caring person and a friend to the entire Johnston family. Even thought 20 years had passed since David and I had last spoke, it was as if time stood still when I spoke to him last October if Florida.
That is a true friend!!

The world is not as nice without him here, but a much better place because he lived!

Our sympathies to the Friedman’s from the Johnston family. ...

David was a warm and giving man. His life gave pleasure to many, as did his art. He will be dearly and sorely missed. My thoughts are with you, Friedman family.

Good-bye gentle David. My love and prayers to your family who miss you so much.

Our deepest sympathies on your loss. The passion with which the speakers remembered David was very moving. It is clear that he was a special person to all who knew him.

Dear Abigail & Irv: Please accept our deepest and most sincere condolence on the passing of David.
