David A. Gannon, 63, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away on Friday September 23, 2011 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend, following a brief illness. Dave was born on May 9, 1948 to the late Rush J. and Bernice P. (Mullen) Gannon in Toledo, OH, and has lived in Mishawaka, IN for the past 20 years. Along with his parents; two sisters, Patricia Meyers and Darlene Plott also preceded him in death. He is survived by his sister Carol (Mike) Gannon-Meier of Toledo, OH. He graduated in 1966 from Springfield High School in Holland, OH, and from Owens Technical College with a degree in computer science. Dave was employed as a software engineer at Fiserv in South Bend, IN, and recently celebrated his twentieth anniversary with the company. An avid scuba diver, Dave regularly participated in the "Hump Day Dives" on Wednesday nights with the Hart City Scuba group. He also enjoyed February Dive trips to the Caribbean, annual fall dive trips to the Florida Keys, and frequent shipwreck dives in the various Great Lakes. A "Celebration of Life" memorial for Dave will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Isaak Walton League Club House on 20400 Darden Road in South Bend, IN.
