George, Debbie and Zachery first met David at Karen and George's wedding in Bakersfield, CA. David was a warm and caring person who made everyone feel at home. David had a wonderful heart and a wit, strange for a mathematician, but a true spirit and friend. This photo was taken a year before my father-in-law died, during his annual visit to Thousand Oaks, CA. I took the photo when we were at Ventura Harbor - called "Safe Harbor" - where we walked the docks, viewed sailboats, and ate fish and chips at a local harbor favorite restaurant, Andria´s. It turned out to be our only opportunity that trip where we had alone "guy time." I treasure the memory, knowing now that it was his last trip to visit us, and our last time alone together.
