Not sure what to say?

I worked for David in the early 70´s at Mid Kansas Federal on East Harry. Poor guy spent one whole Thanksgiving day looking through the large trash can in the back of building. I was a teller & I was off over $100. This was my first employment. He was a great boss & he did have a great sense of humor. I remember when Gabby was born. He was proud of his family. A great man whom we shall see again one day!

Dear Joannie and Family, Kay called to tell me of Dave's passing and we are so sorry. All the years and all the memories are with us! Words are so inadequate for such an exemplary, generous leader who made our generation better for having him among us. Joannie, the two of you smiling together is indelible in our minds and will remain. Bless you as you carry on .... your Angel-on-your-shoulder will be with you every minute. Our prayers go with you. Bless you. Ellie (Sollars)...

I first met Dave at the end of October 1955 when I was enrolled into Blessed Sacrament Grade School. Being a new kid coming after most school relationships were established is not easy. It was obvious Dave was one of the more popular kids. He immediately went out of his way to welcome me. On one occasion he and Terry Keller, rather than buying their lunch at school, walked me all the way home to my house and had lunch with my mother and me. When this got out I was more readily accepted by...

I am deeply saddened to learn of David's passing. It was always a pleasure to serve he and his family at CCC. Both David and Joanie made serving at the club a lot of fun as they were easy to talk to. Now I learn he was a fellow Vietnam Veteran and his loss is that much deeper. Dave Gegen was a good guy and he will be missed. Be strong, Ms. Gegen. You know he's in a good place now.

Although it has been years, Joannie, I remember the fun times when Monte and I were young, as well as you. My sincere prayers for you. Naomi Peterson.

Rest David, until you hear at dawn, the low, clear reveille of God. Thank you for your service to this nation. U.S. Army, Vietnam Era.

David was a contribution to his family and friends that few people didn't greatly appreciate. Becky and I greatly enjoyed David and his family for at least 50 to 60 years. He was a diligent business man that spent time in the biggest Savings and Loan Association in Wichita and Liberal. He sold me the executive furniture out of the Liberal Office which I still have. He was apart of the Kapaun football and track team during 1962-63 and was very fast; and I believe graduated from Newman...

I enjoyed working with him for several years. He had a great sense of humor which made our work day pleasant. He will be missed by the many people that knew him. My thoughts and prayers to his family.
