David E. Gephart, 42, of 111 S. Jefferson St., Sturgis, MI died My 5, 2003 at the Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo, MI.

He was born July 8, 1960 in Huntington, IN a son of Edwin E. and Jacqueline (Kline) Gephart. He has been a resident of Michigan since 1983 living in Sturgis for the past year. David was employed at Applebee's in Sturgis as a cook and enjoyed working with everyone at work. He was also an artist and enjoyed drawing pictures.

Surviving are his mother: Jacqueline Gephart of Troy, OH, two brothers: Jack Gephart and wife Denise of LaGrange, IN and Michael Gephart and wife Rose of Auburn, IN. Uncles: George Gephart of Dayton, OH, Mr. & Mrs. Michael Kline of S. Whitley, IN, and Mr. & Mrs. George Kline of Speedway, IN. Aunts: Marybelle Barnes, Barbara Kline, Carolyn Knop, and Joyce Lillie and husband John all of Huntington, IN. Two nieces: Jacqueline R. Gephart of Auburn, IN and Samantha Schwartz of Sturgis. One nephew: Michael D. Gephart of Ft. Wayne, IN.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the Rosenberg-Schipper Funeral Home, Ltd. of Sturgis on Saturday, May 10, 2003 from 2:00 - 3:00 P.M. Immediately following visitation at 3:00 P.M. a Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home. also at www.rosenbergschipperfuneralhome.com

David was my cousin and he was a very sweet kind and caring person.I had not seen him for a really long time.I will surely miss him.

I am so sorry to hear of Davids death. He was my former employee at Sturgis Big Boy. He was very loyal to our company. He was a very hard worker and was there for many years. I was General Manager there. David was my right hand man I will miss david very much. I could not have found a better employee then David. He did some very nice art work for Big Boy as well. I have somethings that He made me personally and will treasure them for every. Peace Be with you David
