Read MoreWhat a nice man. I met David a few years ago on a bike trip in Tucson. We stayed in touch and even met again on a biking weekend on Cape Cod. I didn't know David well but his strength and love of life touched me, his gardening, an immigrant family, gardening, biking, his sons..... He kept me updated on his passions and his trials and love of family. I am honored to have known David.

David played a huge role in my career at The Yale University Library as well as at The Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library of Yale University. He was both a formidable foil and an astute and talented colleague. I am saddened to hear about David's struggles. I knew him to be a man with an abiding strength and resolute will.
