Oakdale - David B. Gilmartin, age 63, of Oakdale, passed away at his residence Wednesday, May 14, 2025. He was born in New London Dec. 2, 1961, the son of John V. Gilmartin Jr. and Anne Ando Gilmartin.
He worked for Sennheiser Electronics as an inventory control manager.
David is survived by his daughter, Sara Murcko of Pawcatuck; and his granddaughter Alyssa Murcko. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother John V. Gilmartin III; and his sisters, Kelly Vandale and Cheryl Gilmartin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 19, at Sacred Heart Church, 52 Sacred Heart Drive, Groton. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Mystic. Visiting hours will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at the Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames Street. Please visit www.byles.com to sign the guestbook or share a memory.

There is so much that I can say about Dave in the short period that I have known and worked beside him at Sennheiser. Boy could he really talk your ear off! Just kidding. He was such smart and thoughtful person. He had the most captivating smile and his laugh, as raspy as it was, will be always remembered. I would always give him first pick when I brought treats. I always thought that he liked them until there was a drawer discovered when he retired that had collecting some of them...Haha. I...
