Not sure what to say?

Fly fishing is on my mind as May approaches in Maine, and Dave came to mind so I Googled his name. I just now discovered he had passed away. When I lived in Waterbury, Connecticut I fished the Farmington River. Dave's fly shop was central to my time there. Dave was as down to earth and humble as he was talented. He also was strictly no B.S. and always helpful. He had a great dry sense of humor. I remember laughing, listening to him describe his mood when he took a week to go fishing for...

Dave did more than his share for Trout Unlimited. He was crucial to the efforts of TU's Atlantic Salmon Task Force, and offered both inspiration and wise counsel to those who attempted to follow in his footsteps. A real loss to many anglers throughout New England. Our condolences to the family. He will be missed.

When it came to the pvtu club he was always there. Raising money for different projects. As a tyer myself first met him in holyoke, someone walked in looking for live bait Without batting an eye he said "No we sell dead bait" the guy looked at him and walked away. Then Dave moved out to westfield. Great man.

A great neighbor and friend...we will miss youLove, Barb and Joe

So sorry to hear about Dave. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dave was a New England flyfishing legend. I first met Dave at his shop in Holyoke. He was always kind and helpful. Tight lines Dave.

David, Thanks again for the flies you tied for me, even though your late childhood friend Ron Poirier told you that you wasted your time because I didn't know how to fish. :) Also, Jamestown may be one of the best self-managed condominium communities in the area - due to the dedication of David Goulet.

Betty: So sorry to read/hear about Dave´s passing. I thoroughly enjoyed his company and humor. May his memory be eternal. Hugs to you. Wallace Kisiel
