We were saddened to hear about David. He lived a joyous life and will surely leave us all wanting more.

My dearest Hanna and all her children. My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you for the loss of your husband and father!! I know when I was still doing your hair, Hanna, David was still doing very well, so very sorry for your loss!! To Hanna, Jane, Kathy: My deepest sympathies to you. David's passing is a huge loss not only to you but also to the multitude of friends, students, and colleagues he developed over his lifetime. Over the nearly 50 years I knew him, I grew to value the graciousness, respect, knowledge, and support he extended not just to me but everyone who crossed his path. His impact on ISU, the city of Ames, the state of Iowa, and the world in general will be long remembered.
