I think I told you that not only did Dave mentor me as his successor as student body President, we roomed together the summer prior to that as we both were Canton summer sub mail men. Very good memories. I remember how fast he blew through those westerns he read. He'd put his fingers on the next page as soon as he turned one so page turning didn't slow him down. He was such a frugal grocery shopper but ate well. Good guy. Sorry his time here cut...

Dave, it was a pleasure to serve with you on several boards and committees and an honor to know you. I will miss you, my friend.

Dave was the "glue" that held Oregon Road Runners Club together through the lean years decades ago. Afterwards, we became the wild old owl, the rock, that we always sought when difficult situations needed to be addressed. His giving of himself as a volunteer over the decades, and his passion to serve others lives on today as beacon for all, who knew him, to emulate.
