Not sure what to say?

For Mr. Green's Family - I was a computer science and physics student of his from 2000-04. In that time we spent many days and afternoons in his office excitedly discussing academics and life. We even shared a popsicle on his back porch one day after his heart surgery. I can easily state he had the most profound impact on my academic, professional, and in turn personal life. He helped me develop skills while also learning to think more critically about life and what I wanted out of it. ...

David was a lively presence while teaching physics at NCSSM, being enthusiastic, knowledgeable, kind, gifted, smiling and overall a pleasant personality. He will always live in our memories. Thank you, David <3

David Green started teaching at Jordan HS in 1968, and I took chemistry, physics, and computers in 1969-1971. I was on the bus for Apollo 13 launch, and then in 1972, when I was an undergrad at UNC, I drove back down to the Cape with David and his family for the nighttime launch of Apollo 17. He deserves much credit for nudging me into a career in science.

He was a very energetic person when he talked of math and physics. He loved being a family man, too. My condolences for his friends and family. He certainly will be missed. Valerie

Best high school teacher ever. Inspired me towards a career in science and medicine.

I attended Jordan High for two years and graduated in 1976. I was one of those early student/employees who helped Mr. Green print the checks for the county school employees (janitors, bus drivers, and so on--everyone except the teachers). But the fun part was writing code in FORTRAN to add capabilities to his accounting system. That really was early days in the age of computers. Let me try to summarize the computing environment back then to remind you how things have changed and illustrate...

I took physics from Mr. Green at Jordan. I was terrible at it, but he was always so encouraging and I still remember his classes fondly, even 10+ years later. Thank you, Mr. Green.
