David John Groothuis

I am very saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. David Groothuis. I was a neighbor of his family on Crestview Ave for many years. Growing up he was a positive influence when I was growing up. I was good friends with his son John. In the summer he would drive us to Detroit to see the Tigers. In the spring I would help them open up their swimming pool. What a wonderful man!! Always a smile, gentle-spirited, hospitable and kind. Loved his dry humor, quick wit and seeing him work in the yard all my growing up years. As neighbors your family was an incredibly valuable piece of my childhood.

I'm so sorry for your loss. A faithful man of God-our hope is in Jesus. May His peace sustain you and His love overwhelm you.

Dave and I worked together in the insurance and restoration business. He was a perfectionist, a loyal worker and a great friend. He taught me a lot in the field.

I'm sorry for your loss. I remember you dad well. He was so supportive of his kids and really loved you.
