David GUILD Obituary

GUILD, David Carl known professionally as "David Grant," passed peacefully on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at home in Tampa, with his beloved wife, Beverly, at his side. He was born March 10, 1933, in Oklahoma City, OK. His education included a B.A. in Government, University of Oklahoma, and completed meteorology studies, Oklahoma State University. David served in the USAF as a Wing Weather Officer & Major, USAF Reserve. As television broadcast meteorologist, David Grant, his career began in 1960 at KWTV, Oklahoma City; received the AMS Broadcast Seal of Approval; was Chief Meteorologist at television stations in Atlanta, Seattle and Houston; and on-air at The Weather Channel. In 1988, he joined News Channel 8, Tampa, as Chief Meteorologist until 1999. He was an avid competitive tennis player most of his life. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 5th, 6-9 pm at Blount & Curry, Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W. Bearss Ave, Tampa.
