Not sure what to say?

Dear Haar Family,
I hope somehow that this note is a source of comfort for you during this tragic time. It was a very special privilege to spend last year with Dave as part of our seminar. Dave was an officer that helped make our Air Force truly great. His sincerity, thoughtfulness, and deep caring were evident in everything he did. I was very proud to serve with him. I know you miss him far beyond words, but know this. Dave loved his Lord, he loved his family, and Dave had a...

Haar Family,

We are so sorry to hear about your sudden and unexpected loss. Dave was kind and thoughtful, even as an upperclass fellow ROTC cadet. His absence will be felt by the ND alums, the Air Force family and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Haar family,

I heard of this sad news through the ND network. I recall many days at ND where David and I worked on ROTC or engineering projects and always with a laugh. He was a great person and always had a kind heart. I know he will be missed and our family's thoughts and prayers will be with you.

Dear Teri and family,

I am so deeply saddened to hear the news. I shared many good times with David and other fellow "Sceamin' Otters" in Sorin Hall at Notre Dame. Although, I hadn't seen or spoken to him since graduation.. I have fond memories of him; David seemed to always wear a smile and could be counted on to brighten spirits. Our prayers are with him and you today and in the years ahead. God Bless.

Dear Elizabeth, (my most talented art student ever!)

I am so sorry that this tragedy has happened to such a special young woman and her family. Elizabeth, you really look like your Dad! I know you are so proud of him. It sounds like he was a very hardworking, smart, dedicated and all-round great person. I know you are in a lot of pain thinking of his loss. Try and carry the best memories you have of him close to your heart and fresh in your mind. When you miss him, remember...

Teri and family- I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I have many fond memories of hanging out with Dave in Carol Stream and in the St. Luke's Youth group years ago. And what accomplishments he has had since those times! My heart goes out to Teri, Melissa and Elizabeth, Dave's parents and sisters. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

Haar family, I'm deeply sorry for your loss. He was an outstanding commander to work for here at Little Rock, and he will be missed by tons of people. Maintenance will not be the same without him, and I'm sure he has the best Crew Chief taking care of him in heaven.
