David C. Hacker, 69, of Bad Axe, passed away on January 28, 2018 at Covenant Cooper Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan.


 


Dave was born in Bad Axe on May 5, 1948 to J.D. and Joyce (Rifenbark) Hacker.


 


He graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1966 and from RETS Electronics in Detroit, Michigan in 1968.


 


On August 5, 1967, he married Ava Marie Apley at the Bad Axe Church of the Nazarene.  


 


He worked for NCR before returning to Bad Axe.  Dave worked at the family business, Giovanni’s Pizza, in Bad Axe for many years.   He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid gardener.   He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.


 


Dave is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ava Hacker of Bad Axe; his sons, David Hacker of Bad Axe and Chad Hacker and his wife, Cheri, of Argos, Indiana; four grandchildren: Devin, Daira, Emma and Tori; his brothers, Ken Hacker, Mike Hacker and his wife, Nancy, and Larry Hacker; his sisters, Charlotte Apley and her husband, Charlie and Debi Hacker.  He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Carolyn Hacker and many nieces and nephews.


 


He was preceded in death by his father, J.D. Hacker and his brother, Jay Hacker.


 


Per David’s wishes, cremation has taken place at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City, Michigan.  A memorial service will take place at a later date.
