Not sure what to say?

As a Hi School classmate of Dave, I remember his pleasant and friendly approaches to relaxed conversations. Just a nice, all around human who impacted many students. I celebrate that I shared life with this kind man. RIP

As one of the many Plainwell schools´ friends & colleagues of Jean, I express my deepest sympathy in the loss of David. We observed Jean & David´s special, deep connection over the years...especially their shared belief in education, their mutual sense of humor & fun, as well as, their love for all the pet dogs they nurtured for many years. So sad to learn of David´s passing. -Jayne Trombley

Met Dave while teaching in the Parchment Schools; lots of laughs through the years. Also enjoyed his company during many summers of golf outings and dinner get-togethers at the Texas Roadhouse with Jean and Mary Jane. Great friend who will certainly be missed.

So sorry to hear of Dave's passing, did not know of his cancer. Our prayers for his wife and sisters! Dave never let me forget that he was 1 day older than me! He was a great classmate, track athlete and scholar! Great sense of humor too! It's fitting that his service will be on Cinco de Mayo, a beer toast to Dave! He leaves many memories, he will be missed!

Dave was a wonderful teacher and great friend. Dave had a great sense of humor and a life well lived. We enjoyed many fun times over the years. Deepest condolences to Jean and family.

I'm one of the many, many students Mr Hackney had a positive influence on. He was a wonder teacher and all around great guy. I hope the family finds some comfort knowing we, his students, remember him with appreciation and gratitude for his roll in our lives.

Fond memories of Mr. Hackney as my math teacher at Parchment Middle School 67/68 school year! I remember him as a great teacher, patient, friendly and a supportive mentor! Sending my heartfelt sympathy to his wife and family.

Mr Hackney was a awesome teacher! Treated us kids with a lot of kindness and respect. Enjoyed his sense of humor. RIP Mr Hackney
