HAMACHER, David Herman Age 62, died Monday, November 2nd, 2015 in Albuquerque, NM. David leaves his loving wife of 43 years, Helen (Maroney) Hamacher; his son, Patrick and wife Sally (Last); his son Brian; his brother Michael and wife Linda; his sisters and brothers in law, Delia and Martin Glaser, Rita and Richard Neumann, Louise and Gene Taljonick; his nephew Richard Neumann, niece Jayna (Hamacher) Phillips and husband Don; nephew Joel Phillips, as well as numerous friends and other relatives in the Flint area. David was born in Flint on September 11th, 1953, the son of the late Darrell and Verna (Mahany) Hamacher. He was a long time resident of both Clio and Flint before moving with Helen to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2004. David was an enthusiastic sports fan, especially those involving his sons. He was a die hard Detroit Tigers fan, even while living in New Mexico, and a life long University of Michigan fan. David was also passionate about animals and dearly loved his two golden retrievers, Katie and Gordie. Since moving to New Mexico, David treasured his annual trips back to Michigan to see friends and family, to travel throughout Northern Michigan, and visit local casinos, too. A casual open house to share memories will be held at Swartz Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 11th from 4-8 pm. A funeral mass at St. Pius X will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, November 12th, followed by a light lunch at the church community room. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, Powers Catholic High School, St. Pius X church, or Humane Society. Your condolences may be shared with the family at swartzfuneralhomeinc.com

Not sure what to say?

Helen and Family, We were so sorry to hear about Dave. I have many memories of you, Dave and your sons when you and I worked together at Park Plaza. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your Family during this very difficult time.

Helen and family, sorry to hear about Dave. It has been many years since we had seen each other. I knew Dave from when we were young kids. Dave's Grandmother Ada lived next to my Grandparents. I would also see him at Mike's baseball games. I'm sure that the three of us tossed a baseball a few times.

Helen and family, you are in my thoughts and prayers as you face the difficult days ahead. We, the Class of 1971, all grieve at the passing of a fellow classmate. Dave will be missed. May he rest in peace.

Helen and family, you are in my prayers. I am sorry for your loss. Dave was a very wonderful person and will be remembered dearly. May God hold you close during this difficult time.

Helen and family. I was so sorry to hear of the loss of Dave. I always remember you were my roommate at McLaren Hospital when we had our boys. You are all in my prayers.
