Our thoughts and prayers go out to Janet, Shawn, Shane, Erica, Brian and the entire family. It was my honor and privilege to have served with David and work under his leadership for Cobb County for 22 years. Cobb is a much greater place thanks to his leadership and direction. His firm but caring management style was a blessing to all who worked along side him. Such a great loss to the family and community.

To the Hankerson family, My sincere condolences as he was a great leader in Cobb County and he knew my pastor, France Davis, who grew up with him. Rest well Mr. Hankerson, you have completed your assignment and thank you for your military service. May the peace of God comfort the family during this difficult time.

I (Richard Angeli) and my son Mark spent a weekend together with David, and his sons Shawn and Shane at a Weblos Woods Scouting Campout at Bert Adams Scout reservation in the 1990's we had a great time. Later on in the 1990's I had an opportunity as an IBM Networking Specialist, to work with David on a Project Upgrading and integrating the Cobb County Local Area Networks. It was always a pleasure to work with him for business or pleasure.
