Not sure what to say?

Where do beautiful souls go? Heaven does not seem good enough for such a remarkable soul. I have so many memories of Dr Hansen. My dentist for over 30 years, the first person I told I was pregnant, taking care of my husbands dental emergency on a Saturday when he wasn´t even a patient, the first time he shared his knee pain and inability to ski which he loved, and one day he shared he was facing health challenges and said " not all of us are meant to age gracefully." I will miss this man.

Dave was my dentist for more than 15 years, when I lived in Tacoma. I was a Canadian citizen, and every 5 years my Canadian passport would come up for renewal. Because I was living in the US, someone "of stature" (doctor, lawyer or dentist) needed to sign a renewal document, and testify that I had not caused any trouble in the US. Dave was my "person of stature" every time, and he relished the role! I would call in advance to say that I needed my forms signed, and he would be...

We are Bob and Patty Swanson, cousins of Jared and Kaitlyn. Bob is a 1st Cousin to Jared's father Mike. We are so sad for your loss! Patty was ill yesterday, so we could not attend. We have been praying for God's steady comfort to all of you.

Dave and I had a long relationship at PLU and afterwards. We started our lives at 18 years old at PLU and here we are in our 70's. I will always remember "Spot" coming back late in the evening from the PLU library with me to Foss Hall and sharing "laugh time" with our roommates Phil Lavik and Denny Phillips. The list just goes on from waiting tables at Clinks to hiking with Eidal and many many more memories. He was a great friend. Spot heading to Tacoma for dentistry was a great thing for him...

We're so saddened to hear about Dr. Hansen's passing. He was such a kind soul and one of the main reasons I feel so comfortable going to the dentist to this day. He always made us feel truly cared for and that we were receiving the best care possible. He will certainly be missed. My condolences to his family.

I loved Dr. Hansen...truly. I would always get the last appointment for the day because we would talk about academic research for at least 45 minutes before any dental work began. I looked forward to these "every six-month" symposiums where we would discuss top-of-mind subjects and recent research findings. I miss David's gentle wisdom, his genuine kindness, and his child-like excitement when new insights appeared. I am grateful for the gift of his time. Joe Kurtis
