I was most fortunate to meet Dave at lunch with others planning our 45th U.S. reunion in Novenber 2006. Dave was his same delightful self after 30 years or so of not seeing him. He then wrote a draft letter, never finished, for the reunion that I attach below that I thought captured his spirit then and forever:

I am sorry to hear of David's passing. We met in the fabric of Cleveland society and US. I wish I had known that you all frequented Oak Island. I would have visited, living in Pittsboro, NC.
