Not sure what to say?

Oh man tragic news. Wish I could have attended the memorial. What a great man and amazing teacher. Mr. Heaton taught me so much like how to use a computer and tie my shoe. I remember a Native American style party or something and we did a rain dance it rained so hard that day. The hermit crabs!!! I got to take them home like 3 different times. Just a seriously solid dude I'm blown away. I was so lucky to have him as my first teacher. The world just took a major loss. I would be stoked if my...

I had the privledge to be taught by David. he was one of those teachers that axtually cared about his students. even when I left his class, I stayed in touch with him. he was a wonderful man whose words still impact my life. may he rest in peace.

Mr Heaton was a positive, strong role model for my children...we can't express the sadness we feel for this loss of life. He was a friend to my girls long after they each left elementary school - Mr.Heaton mentored my daughter for her Senior Project. There are very few teachers with this dedication and passion for teaching our children. RIP our dear friend and please know how much we loved and valued you.

It is amazing how much impact Mr Heaton has made in our family's life in such a short time. We've known him for only a few months and it seems like we have known him for a long time. My daughter Chloe is in his current kindergarten class and truly loves and misses him. She'd always come home very energized about something Mr. Heaton taught her and we'd need to watch her playing school every night. My husband and I were very pleased with his approach and clear passion to teaching. We were very...

My Grandson is in Mr. Heaton's current kindergarten class and he has excelled under this wonderful man's guidance and dynamic approach to education. Every day was a GREAT day, and the pain of this huge void is just beginning to be a reality. I only hope that we, as grandparents and parents of these young children, can help them love learning and respect in Mr. Heaton's honor. My condolences to all his family and colleagues.

Mr. Heaton, You were such a great teacher to Sammie! She loved how funny you always were and how you would always play music at the end of the day. Every time I hear the song Hello by Adelle, I will remember you because Sam told me that was your favorite!

Our son is currently in David's kindergarten class. We knew David only since the start of the school year, but he made a profound impact on our son's young life that will stay with him forever. David taught him to read and gave him incredible confidence to love learning. We are incredibly sad for this loss and feel so fortunate to have known Mr. Heaton.

My little brother. We should have tried harder to spend more time together. We both thought there would always be time I knew you for 53 years and our childhood memories have resurfaced in my head. They make me laugh and now they make me cry. Be at peace. You impacted a great many children's lives and i know you will be watching over all of them. Love and miss you terribly. Debbie

Everyone has a person that makes an everlasting impression in their life. Someone that makes a difference and is admired. This was Mr. Heaton to my son Michael. As a kindergarten teacher, Mr. Heaton made learning fun and encouraged success with his amazing personality. He was an irreplaceable educator and a great person.
