Not sure what to say?

I live in Connecticut, but my family for years has enjoyed long bicycle rides that take us into Massachusetts. Our favorite place to stop for a coffee break is the Mill River Store, and Dave was a big reason why. He would often join us on the porch to chat. He loved to joke and laugh even though we'd barely met. One hot summer day, I walked into the store with my shirt drenched by sweat. A voice boomed out, "Did you jump in the river?" I smiled and replied, "Not yet, but I'm going to." You...

On behalf of my priest predecessors and myself at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church in Mill River, I want to express my gratitude to Captain Dave Herrick and the New Marlborough Fire and Rescue for keep our community safe. It was always wonderful having a cup of coffee at the ill River Store and receive unsolicited advise from Dave. May God Bless Dave for his good and faithful service.

To the Herrick Family, my deepest condolences. Time passes by only to quickly. Our journey and completion of our work has been fulfilled. The Familiar voice of Jesus softly calls us home, and we lay in His arms and are now home for eternity. The reunion Dave must have had seeing his Mom and Dad, his Grandparents, his nephew Jim and his Brother Jim. What an Irish moment! Dave, may the roads rise to meet you May the wind be always at your back May the sun shine warm upon your face So...

Dave was like family to me one of my fathers best friends neighbors and a mentor. Despite his sarcasm he always gave me the brutal advice I needed and I will miss our talks on the porch. The times you went so far out of your way to lend me a helping hand. I´ll never forget our friendship Thank you Dave

To Dave's family. I am so sorry to hear split good passing. I remember him well growing up with MaryJo. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Shelly

I would like to offer my condolences to the Herrick family. I would like to reiterate what some what some other friends of Dave had said about this wonderful man. Dave greeted everyone with his big smile and helpful attitude. It was a pleasure to enter his store, as even his helpers extended that same smile and helpful attitude. Dave will be missed by all that knew him.

My condolences, Dave was such a wonderful man with a big heart and smile. I was a patron of his business as well as a vender delivering to his store. He always greeted me with a smile a good story and a hug. Rest in peace

So very sorry to hear of Dave´s passing. We loved his huge smile, funny stories and fun-loving way of living. He´ll be greatly missed.
