David Michael Heywood

Mike was one of those men who embraced life and did it full force and head-on. He enjoyed life - to the fullest. Mike will be missed but remembered.

I cannot think of anyone who was as talented in so many areas, -- a great writer, editor, actor, director, and manager of The Slocum as well as leading the tours, and telling its history!

He led several of our Democratic Conventions, was chair of CCDC, the 49th District, Exec Board, taking a lot of pride in manning the Democratic office daily..always there to help PCO's, like me, log on to our lists...(many times).

For years Mike was' Editor of the Democrat.' He loved it! and ...

I ran against him once in the 49th. he,told me I scared the he'll out of him lol. He shared the love of opera was fun seeing him in,his,tuxs. he and my mom who I lost last November use to talk opera and political stuff too. May he rest in peace. My love to the family

Well, where does one start? There is so much I did not know about Mike, as I have only known him for six years. But, what I do know about him is that he was a genuinely nice person, very welcoming and I appreciated this about him. I know his political side and Mike as a prior Chair of The Clark County Democrats. He was very supportive of his committees. He gave us permission to raise the bar and move into the future.
