Not sure what to say?

To Dr. Hickey's Family:

In my 45 years of life, I can honestly say there are a dozen or so people that have had a profound positive impact on me, and Dr. Hickey was at the top of the list. I remember I was 9 years old when my parents selected Dr. Hickey as my orthodondist. My case was so chronic in reference to a severe overbite, it took three "rounds" of braces (into my early twenties)to correct things. Even after my family moved from the Milwaukee area, Dr. Hickey continued...

I am so glad I had Dr. Hickey as my orthodontist. I never feared going to an appointment because he was so careful and considerate (unlike my friends reported about their own orthodontists). I enjoyed his sense of humor, positive outlook and fond stories about his children. He always gave the impression that he loved his work, he loved his family, and he loved life.

Joe Maurin and I got to know Dave on the golf courses in Sarasota. As such we were treated to his subtle wit and humor. Marge and I lived just "up the block" on Longmeadow while in Sarasota and would see the Hickey's now and then. Dave's candor on the golf course was greatly appreciated.

Dr. Hickey was the BEST. He took care of all four of my children and they and I had great respect for him.

I was saddened to learn of Dr. Hickey's passing. I had the pleasure of meeting he and his brother Paul when I rented an old Victorian house from them in the old village of Brown Deer. This old house had been converted into retail space and I ran my flooring business out of it. (Mader's Floor Covering) The thing I remember most about Dr. Hickey was his wonderful attitude. He was always very friendly and kind. He remained a customer of mine for years after I stopped renting from him. He was...

To Dr. Dave's Family,

I am sorry for your loss. Dr. Dave was a wonderful man. He was kind, generous, humorous, genuine and a gifted communicator.

I was fortunate to get to know him during my late teen years. He probably was unaware that he served as a wonderful role model for me.

He was a dedicated clinician that cared deeply about his patients and everyone around him. He was also a natural teacher and I credit him with teaching me a "pearl of...

A Picture of Dad

Mrs. Hickey & Family, I was so sad to see this in the paper. I was just thinking of him early last week as I drove down Green Tree Rd. I just want you to know that I loved working for him (Early to mid 80's) and adored him as a person. Some of my fondest memories include you, Dr. Dave and Leticia coming down to New Munster for our wedding, his humorous stories of "turkey oatmeal",(I hope he doesn't mind that I've stolen some of them and used them on my boys), him yelling "air mail!!" as he...
