Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home - Lake Orion Obituary

David R. Hilbert; of Lake Orion; age 63; November 22, 2015.  David is survived by his loving wife Maria of 40 years; children Timothy (Mari) and Nena; and grandchildren Zoe and Decker.  David graduated from Tawas Area High School.  He went on to earn his Bachelors in Accounting from Saginaw Valley State University, which took him to Baker College working as a Financial Aid Officer in the 1980’s.  From there he went to the Ford Motor Company for 25 years.  During his time at Ford, David worked as a Hydraulic Tradesman after earning his Journeyman’s card from Macomb Community College and most recently he was a Group Trades Leader at the Ford Van Dyke Plant.  David loved the outdoors and spent many years camping and fishing in Canada.  He also loved his electronics, especially his home entertainment theater.  David enjoyed spending time talking to people and he had a knack for making them smile.  He made everyone feel welcome with his dry humor and he always had a joke to tell. On Saturday, December 5, 2015 the family will receive friends from 12 to 4 pm at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home in Lake Orion with Memorial Services to begin at 2pm.

Allan and I were recently out of town and we just learned of Dave's passing. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I will always remember seeing you and Dave pass by on your many neighborhood walks. Your togetherness and devotion to one another was very, very special.

Dave was a true gentleman. I will miss his friendly waves to say hello and great big smile.

Our deepest sympathies,

Maria; we are sorry to hear of your loss. Dave will be missed by all. May you find comport in the Lord during these times. Or love and prayers are with you.

This is certainly a sad time for everyone. I would like to express my deepest condolences for the loss of our brother that God has chosen to call home to soon. Maria we pray you will feel God's presence and love as you move forward and find comfort in the presence of the Lord. Dave will be missed. He was a good person and even a better family man. He loved his family dearly. I enjoyed the countless hours talking to Dave about family and grandkids. Certainly most of all his sense of humor. May...
