Not sure what to say?

Dear Betty, Margaret, and Andrew,
I was a student of Prof Himmelblau and very grateful for the start he gave me in training for a wonderful vocation. I enjoyed him in the classroom and used some of his mathematical techniques in my career. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Betty, Margaret, and Andrew: Your husband and father will be missed. I recall with great fondness his help with our family when we moved to Austin and my dad, Joel, joined the Chemical Engineering faculty. I thank him and all of you for making us feel so welcomed. Good luck to all of you.

Betty, Margaret, and Andrew,
I worked for Dr. Himmelblau during his tenure as Chairman in the Dept. of Chemical Engineering, and had great respect for him, not just as my boss, but as a very kind person and gentleman. Your father's wit and drollness were always evident in my encounters with him. Margaret, I remember with a chuckle when you, me and your father were the only ones laughing in the movie theater when we saw "Return of the Pink Panther," and I was in awe that he watched Monty Python with you. I know his last struggle was difficult. I hope you, Don and your family will find comfort knowing that he is now at peace.

Betty, Margaret, Andrew & families,
Our memories go to the fun times we have had with David and Betty. John and David sharing military experiences; the four of us enjoying each other's company during ASO dinners and meetings.
David will be missed by those of us who were blessed to know him and call him our friend.
