Not sure what to say?

I'll always remember Dave from my days publishing the Compass. He had a great sense of humor and I truly enjoyed the short time i got to know Dave. My condolences particularly to Kyn, with whom I had a number of serious conversations during the Iraq conflict. Dave Holahan leaves a legacy of outstanding journalism.

We knew him as Hoolie, and he was a wonderful teammate on both the football and baseball teams back in the day. Condolences to all.

Dear Kyn, I am startled and shocked and very sorry to learn only just now of David's death in June. He was such a wonderful person and friend, and it was such a pleasure to work with him on the many wonderful stories he wrote for me, for both Hartford Magazine and Dartmouth Alumni Magazine. I loved the travel stories that you and he collaborated on, such enticing words and beautiful photography. His last was a terrific cover story this past spring about a Dartmouth alum who is the Amazon's...

Since the 1970s days of his Old Lyme Gazette, I have admired David's initiative, wit, and writer's gift. From his and Kyn's pastoral sanctuary in Lyme, he shared his loving knowledge of CT nature and culture. His departure is a loss for all of us. respectfully, Paul Randolph Spitzer

I often thanked David for changing my life. I knew his parents on Long Island and they subscribed to the Gazette. When I found I was moving to CT I also subscribed to the Gazette. It was through a Gazette ad I found my Lyme house. That was over 40 years ago and I have lived here happily ever since. If it hadn't been for David and his parents I would never have known the Gazette and the advantages of living in Lyme. Claire Sauer
