Not sure what to say?

I joined Rotary in 1981. David was an important person in town and I was a newcomer. He made me feel very welcome. I recognized him him as a gentleman and a person of high character. It was an honor to become a friend of his.

Hoping you have peace in your heart after your father, grandfather and wonderful friend to all who knew him passed. We are sure all the memories will help with the tears.

The poet Edgar Guest said, " I would rather see a sermon than hear one ". Dave was a sermon in what it means to be a true gentleman.

MY DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY. BOB BROWNE

David was a friend from earlier years, as a neighborhood friend, married to one of my friends and a loyal and cherished friend to my father Harold O Swanson with whom they share years of service at the Mutual Home Federal Savings and Loan Asso at 88 Market Street. He followed in many positions after Harold retired but maintained their friendship and association. David was considerate, caring , wise and soft spoken and I am grateful for knowing him.

While I didn't know David other than to say hello at CHCC when passing, I know Doug and wish the family my condolences. Rest in peace, God Bless.

What a loss of another great man in our community. I had the pleasure of working with Dave when we both served on the Boy Scout Council Executive Board. Dave was presented scouting's Silver Beaver Award in 1974. He will be missed.

Dear Doug and Penny,I'm so sorry for your loss. What a wonderful obit. What a great man !
