Not sure what to say?

Garrett was my law partner for more than a year in Iraq supporting a brigade of the 101st. He was a real soldier and a great lawyer and a patriot. We were together most of the day and night and I know how much he loved and missed his son.

I loved him. He was a great guy who had so much to offer. I will always miss him.

As we mark another year in time since CPT Hooper passed away, I will pause to remember what the loss of this nation, this state, this community, the Army, his many friends and his family means. We won´t forget, David, we won´t forget. God bless and keep you, and comfort your family. You were a true friend and a Great American.

I knew Garrett on a professional level as a JA. He had a easygoing/positive attitude/temperament, was knowledgeable/experienced in SOF, and was a good lawyer. It is very unfortunate he is no longer with us.

I am David's son, Walker Hooper. I am posting this in 2021, only a month after the anniversary of your passing. You will forever be missed, and thank you to those who helped and supported my father in or outside the military. I miss you dad

I think of Captain Hooper often, but in January of every year since he missed the earthly roll call, because he had answered to a higher calling, I pause for a longer moment to remember a friend, colleague in the profession, an outstanding soldier, and a fine human being. God bless you Captain Hooper. You are one of the few soldiers that this former marine would follow into combat. You had a good heart that was too big for this world. I wish you and your family peace. Semper Fidelis.

Our hearts are broken at the death of one of our Nations Great Warriors!!! He gave so much for his Country and his fellow Soldiers..We mourn with You Dear Family Members the loss of one of our finest. The best of him will live on in his amazing young son, Walker. Prayerfully, Bob and Polly Neill

Hooper was a very good man. May God rest his soul in eternal peace.
