HOPP, David W., 68, went to be with the Lord on December 3, 2008. Survivors include his wife, Martha; three sons, Doug and his wife, Lisa, Craig and his wife, Lisa, and Eric and his wife, Wendy; one daughter, Leslie and her husband, Rich; one brother, Thomas and his wife, Marlies; and one sister, Mary Grandt and her husband, Alex. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Lauren, Blake, Emma, Leah, Ethan, Carter, Megan and Jacob, whom he deeply cherished. Mr. Hopp was an employee of Allied Chemical and RF&P Railroad during his career, and most recently was the owner of Check Mate. His remains rest at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Virginia Veterans Cemetery, 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at St. Giles Presbyterian Church on Grove Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Giles Presbyterian Church Choir.
