David Russell Huffman

David R. Huffman, 67, of Fairmont passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born on November 16, 1947 the only son of the late Donald L. and Emily Lea (Wilson) Huffman. David was a 1965 graduate of East Fairmont High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1965 and served until 1969 when he was honorably discharged after serving four years including a tour of duty in Viet Nam as well as other countries. He earned the Rank of Sargent. David is survived by his son, Jerimiah "Bo" Huffman and his fiancé, Stephen Elmore of Florida. Also surviving is his sister, Donna Nestor and her husband, John of Barrackville; his nephews, Ron Straight of Williamsville, New York, Jeff Straight and his wife, Alicia of Greensburg, Pennsylvania and Adam Straight and his wife, Alyson of Roswell, Georgia; his very special great nephew, Noah Straight; his very special great nieces, Annik Straight and Celyn Straight; his dear friend and hunting buddy, David Morrison; his beloved canines, Molly and Cindy; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edward and Leona (Phillips) Wilson and paternal grandparents, Charles M. and Ada (Keener) Huffman. The family would like to acknowledge the nurses and staff of Ruby Memorial Hospital and the Marion County Rescue Squad.
