Not sure what to say?

My connection to David began primarily through my late father. But I came to appreciate very much his personality, and his love for railroads, particularly of course the NC&StL, which my grandfather worked for for many years in Tennessee.

I met David through the NSPS, the historical society for the NC&StL Railroad. He was the heart and soul of the society's quarterly magazine. He was very outgoing and one of the good guys. He was taken far too young. My condolences to the family.

I met David through my late father, James Bogle of Atlanta. They shared a love and interest in the former NC&StL railroad, for which David published an excellent newsletter. He was a fine person and a very talented writer.

I knew David as part of the Program Department. I always enjoyed chatting with him. I thought of him as an intelligent, soft-spoken, hard worker, who always had something to contribute. His writing was excellent. More than all of this, David was a fine person. I am so sorry for your loss. I will be praying for you all.

So sorry to see this news, goodbye old friend. No more deadlines to worry about now.

David was my co-worker at the Chicago Tribune for many years. It was always a pleasure to work with him on a story. He was an excellent reporter and a good human being. My condolences to his loving family. He is actually the first person whom I know to have died from the scourge. I am so sad.
