Dr. Ivy delivered my son on 5-13-78. He was a very caring and dedicated physician. He took excellent care of me during my pregnancy and I cannot say enough great things about him. He had gone to school with my ex-sister-in-law as well so he came highly recommended to me by her. She is deceased as well. He always had a quick wit and an infectious smile. I will never forget his kindness to me - ever. He was one of a kind to be sure and I will surely miss him even though I had not seen him...

Doc was a great man. A friend, a reader, a critic, a gifted healer, and a mentor. He told great stories of his time at Tech and in medical school. He had a very deep and real love for Clint and Lana and those grandkids. After that, his dogs were his favorite. He made people feel good. The world needs more of that. Rest in peace.

I'm so very sad to read of Dr Ivy's death. I was his patient in the 70's until he retired. He was a friend as well as my doctor. Such a part of my and my children's history. The fun memories I have of him! The last time I saw him at Market Street we sat outside and talked for an hour. He will be missed.

I want to offer my condolences to Dr. Ivy's family. My life was saved by Dr Ivy in 1978, after his hours of work on me and blood transfusions I was okay, the nurses told me that he called several times during the night to check on me. I am forever indebted to him. What a blessings he was to many.

Dr. Ivy delivered both my girls the first one January 28th 1978. I was a scared 16 year old having a hard time delivering, had been laboring for 12 hours and was going to have to have an emergency c-section. Dr. Ivy was the specialist that was called when he walked into the room his compassion and kindness was a breath of fresh air. He came over and held my hand and offered his chap stick to me. From that moment on Dr. Ivy was my hero! He delivered my second daughter 9 years later November 4...

Not only was David my childhood friend, we were college roommates our freshman year at Tech. Ann and Mary Lou, I am sorry for the loss of a great brother. I often thought of him and wondered how he was doing. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear this. Dr. Ivy was such a wonderful man and as his patient took wonderful care of me for many years. Delivered my babies and when he left his practice I was crushed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

David was one of those unique characters. A lot of bluster sometimes but a heart of gold other times. My sincerest of condolences to the family.
