Not sure what to say?

Dear family, This morning (Jan 9, 2023) I was thinking about Dave as I lost touch following retirement. I began a little search and found the notice of his passing. Some key words that I used was teacher, wooden boat, DECA and IISD...it made for a relatively quick search. Recently, I had seen a dear friend whose granddaughter had attended the Career Center and took the Marketing class that Dave taught. Every time I see this friend, he reminds me that his granddaughter attended the Career...

Dear Family,
Blessings to you all, as you face the loss of David. I have fond memories of his involvement in Gull Lake High School's Performing Arts Company, supporting our tours along with young David. His life has touched many through dedication to education, helping make our world a better place. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you all, as you care for each other in this time of loss.

Peace & Grace to you,
Robin & Nancy Nott

I met Dave, Nancy and Daver when I started dating my husband Pat, who sailed 210's with Dave on Gull Lake. I have great memories of my weekend trips back here from Chicago when Pat and I would always go over to the Johnsons for a good game of euchre. We send our sincere sympathies to Daver and Melinda and family.

I worked with Dave at Ingham Intermediate. He was great with his students and we had a lot of fun working together! He was a great Teacher and colleague.

Dear Daver , Melinda, and family,

My condolences on the death of your Dad. I so enjoyed knowing Dave and competing with him. He will be fondly remembered for his contributions to Gull Lake sailing, especially to the 210 fleet. Bill and RuthAnn Uggen

Daver and Melinda,
We will always remember Dave's love for Nancy and his love for his family. Dave and I started together teaching at the Van Buren Vo-Tech center in Lawrence Michigan in July of 1976, with Dave having some experience he was a great mentor. Over the decades during many meals, family visits, phone calls, and helping each other with many home "renovations" where we shared life events. Dave was a lifelong teacher, a competitor, and loved his sailing. He enjoyed his craft of...

Fave was such an amazing man and I loved his stories!! Became closer to him thru Bible study at the Richland Presbyterian church. Enjoyed hanging out with him and hearing his sailing stories. He loved the grandkids coming in the summer to learn and to sail with him. Great story teller and so very humble.

Dave was wonderful to work with. He was supportive to students and fellow staff members, at school....and passionate about sharing his knowledge of Marketing with his students. I will miss Dave, and will remember his great help to others and Dave's love for Nancy...and his pride and love for his family.

Dave was a kind and patient man, who held the operations of the Gull Lake Yacht Club together each week, during the racing schedule. He always was willing to help fellow sailors and loved racing his International 210 for many years. A real gentleman who will be missed.
