I worked with David many years ago in Narrows and he and I became really good friends. I have lived in NC for 20 years and when I would go home I always gave him a call and we would talk for hours. I knew David when he was a cook ( a really good one ) at the Narrows Truck Stop ( when it was just that) I recall David often standing near the slot where orders were placed for the waitresses to pick up, ears cocked and listening to the non-sensical conversation coming from out front. Many times he would state it thusly: "I heard the truth not just once today...but twice. Amazing ! ! " And it truly was. I'll miss David...
