Not sure what to say?

Uncle Dave,
Please forgive me for taking so long to sign. Thank you for the good times our families have spent together. My greatest regret is that we didn't have time to make new ones, but I am at peace knowing that you are there with my mom, comforting, reminicing, and making big plans for the rest of our arrivals. Take care of each other, it won't be long until we meet again.

To the Kaeka family, "I LOVE YOU ALL".

Hey Papa,
We miss you and we hope your happy wherever you are. I hope your watching over us and someday I'll see you again. I love you and I'll never forget you...xoxoxoxoxo...
xoxo..love..xoxo,

A Mighty Steed
A Saber Keen
Until we meet again
At Fiddlers Green
Fiddlers Green
Halfway down the trail to Hell
In a shady meadow green
Are the Souls of all dead Troopers camped
Near a good old-time canteen,
And this eternal resting place is
Know as Fiddlers Green
Marching past straight through to Hell
The Infantry are seen
Accompanied by the Engineers,

I am so sad to hear about your loss. I was in 2nd Platoon when your dad was in 1st Platoon. From the shooting of wild boars from the top of the tank with his old M1 Rifle to his uncanny sense of knowing where the enemy was (including having his tank fall into them), he was the most respected Platoon Sergeant in the Troop. Many of us in other platoons wished that we could be in his platoon. Our Platoon Sergeant was SFC. Kamai and he and your dad said that they were calabash cousins. He was a...

To the Kaeka Family,
I was very young when I served with your father. I turned 19 the year I was in Viet Nam. As a young sergeant, I learned what real leadership was all about from him. As a young man, I learned a lot from him about what it meant to be a man. I'll be 55 years old soon. In the last 36 years, David has remained a fine example for me. He was strong when he needed to be and kind when it was appropriate. He loved all of you without reservation and wasn't afraid to admit it....

I really can't express how sorry I am for the loss that you and your family have suffered. Your father and I became pretty close through our ordeal and I really came to respect and admire him. He was a good man and I thought of him as a good friend. Believe it or not, I thought of him often and only thought of the good memories. He was a good soldier, a good leader and a good teacher and I learned alot from him. Please relay my sincere heartfelt condolences to your family. The Kahuna was one...

I learned today of the passing of a brother in arms with great sadness. The "Kahuna", as we called him, was the most professional NCO I ever saw. I remember once around Quan Loi he called me up to his tank and asked me, "Six, what do you want me to do about those bunkers?" I said what bunkers "Kahuna?" I don't see any bunkers. He handed me some binoculars, and I saw... THEY WERE 300 YARDS AWAY! I have prayed for David since he began to battle old wounds and disease. I know you will miss him...
