David Christopher Keating, 51, of Chicago was welcomed into heaven April 22, 2022. He succumbed to complications from leukemia. He has now become our beloved guardian angel. Although he is not physically with us, we will feel his touch every day. David left a lasting impression on every person he ever met. He was the kindest, most compassionate, gentle and caring faithful soul a person would be privileged to have in their life. He had an exceptional relationship with his husband Ronald. His family also meant the world to him as he did to them. David showed us all how to be better people by his example in life. David was born in Florida. At a young age, his family settled in Wichita Falls, Texas where he grew up and had many friends. He graduated in 1993 from Midwestern State University with a Communications degree. Over the last 25 years he excelled in this field and had many roles from reporter, to news anchor, to VP of communications. He served as Vice President of Corporate Communications for 15 years at General Group Properties in Chicago. David was preceded in death by his parents Merle Keating and Margaret Morgan. He is survived by his loving husband Ronald Pestana; sister Patricia Shankle; sister Donna Davenport; brother Jeffrey Keating and wife Susan; many nieces and nephews: Brandi Myers (Joseph), Chris Shankle (Amanda), Daniel Davenport (Tracy), Bradley Keating (Andrea) and Amanda Keating. Friends and family are invited to celebrate his extraordinary life at Lakeview Funeral Home for visitation at 1458 W. Belmont Ave, Chicago from 6:00 – 8:00 pm May 6th. A memorial mass will be held May 7th at 10:00 am at St Alphonsus Church, 1429 W. Wellington.

Even as a fellow purveyor of words I can find few at this time. David and I were friends since he was in kindergarten and I was in first grade at Kate Haynes Elementary. I don't have any time that I didn't know David and love him. All of the way through college we shared funny things and a love of our communications endeavors. I am so happy he enjoyed his life to the fullest no matter what was going on in the past several years. I will always miss you David!

David you will be greatly missed. I most remember that one day you, me, Angela and a few others went on a summer picnic. I have a pic with you holding me and laughing. I remember working with you at channel 3 in Wichita Falls, your first reporting job and me as an intern. You were always kind, gentle, funny and lots of just good fun. I will miss you. Love, Melinda

Prayers for the family.

It appears David touched many lives during his short time here on earth. Prayers and condolences to his family.
