Byles Memorial Home - New London Obituary

David Kent, age 51, of Groton CT, passed away Sunday August 29th 2021 at Rhode Island Hospital. Born July 2nd 1970 in England to Perley L  Jr. And Beryl S (Biggs) Kent. David spent his childhood exploring with his family from Europe to America and back. A graduate of Ella T Grasso High School in 1989, he worked for Electric Boat, Foxwoods Casino and Christopher's Cafe in Groton CT. He loved spending time with family and friends , having cook outs in the yard, playing cribbage and yahtzee. He also enjoyed playing poker in Grampy’s workshop, meeting for a game of golf or watching the Cowboys play football. His passion for music will never be forgotten from his karaoke sessions which always included his skills on the air guitar and drums. His fun loving spirit and kind heart will always remain with all who knew and loved him. David is survived by his brother Michael of Marlton New Jersey, daughter Brittany and son Robert of Groton CT, son Jason of Exeter RI and grandson Hendrix. He was predeceased by his father Perley, his mother Beryl and his sisters Susan and Joanne. A graveside services will be held Saturday October 23rd at 11am at Colonel Ledyard Cemetery, Mitchell St. in Groton followed by a celebration of life at Christopher's Café, 958 Poquonnock Road  in Groton at 2pm. In lieu of flowers please make donations to A Place Called Hope, a wild bird rehabilitation center, 154 Pond Meadow Road, Killingworth CT. 06419.

Sorry to all Dave´s family and friends for your loss. I had a great 13 years working with Dave at Foxwoods both in the booth and in MCB bank he was a joy to work with. He will always be remembered.

Dave... Man I miss you! I miss you slamming the Pots n Pans in the Christopher's kitchen! Hey.... "How bout dem Cowboys"!!!!! You would be loving it! RIP Buddy.

I have no words to express how sad I am for David’s kids and Hendrix. David was so loved by all of his friends and he truly will be missed. I will think of him every time I hear a Pearl Jam song. He hated when I played them and would tease me about it. So many memories.

So sorry for your loss Dave was a great friend, funny,caring, I met him when we worked together at Foxwoods. He was amazing to work with He will always be in my thoughts and prayers. I will miss him dearly. R.I.P. my friend
