Homer David Kines “Little Luther”, 61, of Wichita Falls passed away on March 25, 2025.


Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.


David was born on March 26, 1963 to Homer Dwight and Mary Frances (Anderson) Kines in Wichita Falls. He attended Rider High School, where he played basketball and ran track. Later David furthered his education and he attended Wichita State University focusing on music. His passion for singing led him to an audition to the stage of the television show “The Voice”. David was the father of three children and three bonus children. David will be missed by many family and friends.


David was preceded in death by his father, Homer Dwight Kines; wife, Sharon Kines; his maternal grandparents, Arthur Sr. and Lizzie Anderson; paternal grandparents, Clifton Kines and Mary Maurice Lott; a daughter, MeShong Kines; two sisters, Debra Winston (James) and Penny Davis (Corkey); and his brother, John-Anthony Kines.


He is survived by mother, Mary Frances Kines; son, DarShang Kines both of Wichita, Kansas; daughter, Shayla Kines of Vernon, Texas; three bonus children, Lamiekiean Kelley (Thomas), Alfred Dever and Charles Williams; a special cousin, Cassie Kines of San Antonio, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
