KIRCHNER, David W. - of Flint, age 53, died Monday, August 16, 2010 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2010 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Deacon Michael Dear officiating. Following the service a military service will be conducted by VFW Post #822 Honor Guard. Per David's wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation 1 p.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Dave was born in Lapeer, Michigan on May 1, 1957, the son of Lynn and Rama Kirchner and was a resident of Flint all of his life. Dave served in the U.S. Army for 13 years, both in active duty and as a Recruiter. Dave married Terilyn Timmons on March 20, 1982, in Flint. He was very active and loved his job as a Union Representative with UAW Local #659. Dave loved sports, decorating his house at Christmas, but most important to him was his wife, children and his dog, Jake. Dave retired from General Motors Flint Metal Fab in April, 2010, after 13 years due to his medical condition. Surviving are wife, Terilyn; two children, whom he adored; son, Jason; daughter, Chelsy Kirchner and his dog, Jake, all of Flint; father, Lynn and wife Carolyn Kirchner of Kentucky; sister, Debi Kirchner of Grand Blanc; in-laws, Terry and Catherine Timmons of Burton; along with many family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rama. Special thanks to the staff and patients of RRC Dialysis in Davison, DaVita in Burton, Dr. Suresh Gupta for all of their care throughout his illness, and in great appreciation for all his friends at UAW Local #659.
